    last night, i didn’t
have practice with mercy, and i didn’t watch the game either!  i heard of
our terrible loss today from a friend.  Canes have to win 3 in a row now to
grab the Stanley Cup.  i think thats right.  ok, i hate to do this.
but i’m doing it because i’m sure you wont take the time to read the
    article.  so
here’s the part that really stuck out to me:  “If
you’re providing free entertainment, which is obviously what the music business
is doing, then you have to figure out some way to sell advertising to the people
who are paying attention to your free music. But nobody seems to have any idea
how that might be done. Or you can provide stuff that’s free, and use the free
stuff to promote something else of more value that people, you hope, will buy —
now called the “legitimate alternative.” (Putting video on the CD is one of
those ideas — though, of course, you can file-share video too.) Or sell the CD
at a level that makes it cheap enough to compete with free (free, after all, has
its own costs for the consumer).”

did you understand all that?  it costs money to
make music.  i dont understand why no one understands that.  Another
quote:  “Accordingly, costs will have to shrink. Spending a few million to
launch an act will shortly be a thing of the past. (The formal catalyst of the
beginning of the end of big development costs may be the Wall Street Journal’s
story a few months ago that precisely accounted for the $2.2 million launch
costs of a singer named Carly Hennessy, who went on to sell 378 CDs.)”

the big labels take huge gambles on
releasing a new artist.  in the example above, they spent so much money,
but only sold 378 cd’s?  If my math is correct, that would place the actual
cost per cd to be:  $5,820.11.  Would you pay that much for a cd?
duh, no one would.  so they even the costs out between all the artist they
publish for.  some will not sell enough, some sell more then enough to make
up for the ones who didn’t sell enough.  some sell millions and they help
to overcome some of the cost of these that dont sell.  but for some people,
they think music should be free.  the artist already have money so there’s
no reason to purchase their cd’s.  i personally know 2 friends who are
artists.  and i’m not sure if i would be a third or not, i’ll let you
figure that out.  any, these two friends, Mercy and pretzelboy (check
website to the left in the links) record and perform and do things, but have no
means of quitting their day job. how do you think artist get money?  it’s
just given to them for the hell of it?  i recently paid $35
dollars for a single cd.  a friend asked me to make a copy of it for him.
i refused.  i go to record stores and buy $20 dollars worth of cd’s from
the dollar bin.  i come away with a bag full of music, and i’m still
    helping to promote the artist.

  • i had another bad
dream last night.  i wont go into
detail, but it’s been a while since i’ve had
    such dreams
about that one, and then i have to
    have one like that?  maybe
    it’s these.  so
i wrote yesterday morning of me needing to clean my room.  i haven’t even
touched one piece of trash in this room yet.  an old friend stopped in and
we watched our Canes lose a really good game.  it really sucked that we
lost, into the third overtime, you know our
    guys
were tired.  but they didn’t give up, but they should of won!
they play again tomorrow night.  so i’m gonna have to
    watch that one.  cept
i think mercy will come over and practice.  maybe i can tape record it.
but then it’s no good once i hear
    the score
on the news.    i like this so much
    i’m linking again

    >my house is
    relatively clean, except for
this computer room.  i really need to
    organize
it today.  i could make it
beautiful, but i need to buy some
racks and things i think so i can put all my crap up on it.

  • on the 100th episode
of the Simpson’s, Bart wrote on the blackboard “I will not celebrate meaningless
milestones”.  does that mean anything to you today?  but i wont dwell
on that.        Tio used the bathroom on her
newspaper today.  good job.  It’s a shame they don’t just make rolls of
paper like that you can just buy in bulk to be used as a piss collector.
how would you feel if you spent long hours working on writing an article, and it
was good enough to be published, thousands of people read it, and all that
becomes of it is some creature dumps his load on it and then it’s put in a big
metal barrel and burned.  i feel bad every time i put a fresh batch down.
i would hate to know that you do that to my web site.  lay the monitor on
its side and drop your load onto the screen then close the browser window in
haste.  i felt creative tonight.  i even loaded up fruity loops to
work on a song.  but that’s as far as i got.  so i came here.
lets see what becomes of it.

A guy walked up to me today and ask about my past.  I said
why do you want to know about my past?  He said I want to know of your past
because my past is the same as your past.  Then if you already know your
past, you know my past, so I have no reason to tell you anything.  He said
I don’t think you understand.  I used to be you in my former life.
come on now, that can’t be.  it is.  see when you die, you will become
someone as well.  problem i have is i didn’t finish my mission my last
life, so now you’re here to see if you can do it.  if you don’t, then you
will be replaced too.  why is this?  how can this be?  God has a
will for everything.  you are destined to do something really great.
but you may be distracted by evil.  you will dishonor your God and you will
have to be replaced so you can continue your quest.  Then what is my quest?
I can not tell you that.  my quest is to finish this story, and i can
already tell that’s not going to happen.  so see ya

    ok that
was fun.  did you know America has been donated 14 cows from a tribe in
    Kenya?  like just this week.
    read all about it

    so the show tomorrow
is canceled beyond our control.  but as far as i know next week we’re on.
I’ll post for sure when i know for sure.  but i’m not sure when i’ll be
sure so be sure to check in later to see if i’m sure.  i don’t wear sure. i
wear Gillette, i think.  so i setup my whole system last night for mercy to
come over and practice.  i left it up so i could easily break it down
tonight and put it in my car.  so last night, i decided i wanted some
sleeping music.  so i cranked my ce2000 and dual American dj pro 500 cd
player and fostex mixer and 2 huge 12″ B-52’s speakers up.  I watched as
the lights dimmed when i turned it on.  I put in the carpenters and turned
the volume to almost nothing, that way i could hear it without blasting me outta
the bed.  and i laid there thinking ive got 1200 or so watts sitting here
beside me, almost $3000 worth of equipment running up my electricity bill just
so i can hear some mood music as i try to sleep.  tonight i may sleep
    before 1.  it’s 11:21 now.  that’ll be good.  Tio is’nt doing a
good job of living inside.  she gets lots of spankings. when will she
learn?  some one came to my page from
    www.fazed.net
so i’m returning the favor.  however, i cant find a
mention of my site in the news, and i searched the archives but to no avail.
if you came here from fazed, let me know what from!

    yes i’m up way later
than i should be.  i almost fell asleep coming home from work today and
i’ve been busy all night so i haven’t been able to take a nap.  anyway,
just wanted to post about the success of my first dj gig at a party.  i got
    tons of compliments on my

    very awesome DJ booth.
yes, i was brave 😉  the glow from the
monitor really looked cool once the sun went down 😉  i enjoyed it, even
met some friends from back in high school.  i rocked the place pretty hard,
but i didnt blast it all the way.  they were asking me to turn it down
already!  and i dont even have a sub.  i need a van.  i need
someone to help me carry all my stuff cuz it sure does make me tired.  let
me know if you need a part time job.  the pay sucks, but you get to listen
to some cool music 😉  well, i’m still working on some things for wednesday
night, so i’m outta here.  then to bed.  see ya
