    It’s almost as if
we’re not meant to play this weekend.  Saturday, March 9th at 7pm is our
next show at Philly Bistro in wake forest.  I feel more unprepared this
show than i did my very first one.  some of you know, our last show, one of
my cd players died only about 3 songs into the night. i’ve been unsuccessful at
getting it repaired (Best Buy sucks!!!!!!!!) .  but thanks to my elite
skillz and what not, no one ever noticed and the show went on.  well,
during a small recording session with Mercy here last sunday night, my second cd
player died.  one week before show time.  luckily, i had already
placed an order last week for a new dj dual cd player.  sooo.. i finally
receive my cd player tonight.  unpack it, hook it up in my new equipment
rack and one of the cd players in my new unit is broke!!!  Its actually a
dual cd player, so i was able to use the other one and try it out.  it is
very neato.  but i really would like to have the second cd player to play
with.  so… the rush is on to get a new unit in.  i’m not sure how
we’re going to transport everything this time.  last show, we got mercy’s
n-laws Chevy Tahoe and filled it up, this show we wont have that.  we dont
like using my step moms truck.  we’ll probably rent a van.  then
again, i’m thinking of hiring someone that has a truck or van or something to
help load and unload and load and unload again and take us to and from.
anyone up for it?  We’ll pay something too!  maybe 40 or so bucks.
come on, easy money.  arghhh.. I’m not old enough to rent a cargo van.
you have to be 25.  i’ll be 25 this July.  mercy can get it, its just
a pain to have to get both of us together and go get something.  Saturday
is always packed.  i wake up early, setup all the equipment in my living
room, she comes over, we practice, she leaves and gets ready, i secure a
vehicle, load everything into it and get ready myself.  then we got to go
and unpack there and setup and all.  then it’s on!!  it’s way fun, but
it does have some headaches.  Anyway, the show must go on and maybe we’ll
have to tie everything onto some rolling cart and drag it behind my car.
so meet us there!!  You’re not doing anything saturday anyway. i know you.
Philly Bistro, downtown Wake Forest, NC.  March 9th, 7:00pm – 10:00pm.

    the

    Winter Olympics
have finally come to a close tonight.  If you didn’t
watch the closing ceremonies you missed a really great show.  It would have
been such an experience to be there.  This year, i followed the Olympics
more so than in any other year and i have to admit i got a bit excited quite a
few times.  Its amazing to me to watch some of these people who are
teenagers compete and win against people from all over the world.  I
watched Thursday night Sarah Hughes’s figure skating competition and was really
pulling for her. The expression on her face as she landed her first jump was
just unforgettable and really showed her emotions there.  and with each
successive jump, twist and turn she made her face lit up as she knew she just
gave the best performance she could possibly give.  The burden that was
placed on the remaining skaters that night must have been very heavy, each fell
once during their performance.  and even though Sarah was not
expecting to win at all, it was very fitting for her to get the gold that night.

    Michelle Kwan
is such a beautiful and talented skater and it was sad to see
her lose the gold medal given her circumstances.  But, as everyone said,
she showed respect and grace to her competitors and accepted her medal and that
in itself is a sign of a good sport.  The closing ceremonies are off the TV
now for the local news, but as soon as they come back on, I’m on it.  I
just had to crank my stereo system up when Bon Jovi came on and played in the
middle of the giant snowball fight and the ice that was splattered with
florescent paint.  Those dinosaurs were really neat, but could you imagine
sitting in the stadium not knowing you had these huge creatures looming over
your head and you turn around to see one of them looking you in the eye?
gesh!  If i was athletic i would be inspired watching these guys.  but
I’m not.  as athletic as i get is saying I’m going to buy a bike and start
riding or that I’m going to start running.  I used to run a lot and i even
thought of taking up track in high school.  but for some reason i didn’t.
probably cuz i figured i wasn’t good enough.  story of my life.  one
of my thoughts still linger on.  i watched Sarah take the gold medal and
knew she was not expectnig to win it.  she did, and she’s now the best.
she worked 16 years to take the chance to go there, and she did and she won.
but now what?  its sad to me to think that i’ve worked for so long to
accomplish something and then i’m suddenly beating everyone to it.  what do
you do then?  she’s going to do tours around the country at local venues.
but so young in life and already have achieved something that people work
decades on.  i wonder if she’ll be in Greece next time.

figured out how to add the cool yahoo status to the page.  now you have no
excuse not to talk to me!!  so do it!! don’t worry, you wont be
interrupting any thing cuz no one else talks to me since they think they’re
interrupting me talking to someone i’m not talking to.  removed November

soon as i finish typing this.  so check it out under the poetry links!!!

    a few new bookmarks
have been added to my favorites in IE tonight,
    www.pouet.net
    and www.scenemusic.net.
pouet is a French site dedicated to the demo scene, but don’t worry, most of it
is in English!  scenemusic is a streaming radio station that plays music
from the demo/tracked scene.  but what’s so cool is it’s awesome interface.
you can request songs and view most popular songs and all sorts of stuff.
makes me want to redesign my entire web site.  😉  also, check out
www.alambik.com this is the flash of demo
coders.  nice demos on here, and if i can figure how to create some of
these things, I’ll make something one day.  I’ve always wanted to learn
flash and put a rendition of my nightly dreams online.  but realistically,
i don’t know flash, and realistically i wouldn’t do it every day, and
realistically, I’m not artistic.  i just have ambitions.

    If you like
techno, dance music and you like video games, check out
    http://remix.overclocked.org/.
Lots of remixed game music on there, all very good.  So what’s my story
today?  Well, I went to get my hair cut.  My step-mom’s going to
school for cosmetology and she does a mighty fine job.  check out my new do
on the cam.  She even cooked some supper for me, its rare i get a nice
cooked meal anymore.  And to top off all the excitement of this food and my
new haircut, i just had to have a tragedy happen.  going down the road and
i must of hit a damn hole or something in the road and instantly had a flat
tire.  or maybe it just decided to blow on its own.  i was trapped.
i pulled over beside some old barn and called the roadside assistance.
paying all this money for this new Sebring, i’m gonna use it if i got it.
so i did and the lady was asking where i was at, and i told her i didn’t know, i
was driving and it just happened.  i gave her an approximate of where i
was, and they took all my info and all that jazz and had their so smart computer
call me back and tell me how long it would be before someone would get there.
35 minutes.  so i waited and waited.  and i thought you know, if i
really wanted to i could have done it myself in 35 minutes.  but it was so
cold, i had my work clothes on and my new shoes and gonna get a haircut and eat
some food and all that jazz and i was gonna use my newfound help from this car
deal.  so the guy arrived and did his thing and that was that.

its getting close to valentines day, and each day of my
miserable life that i check the yahoo personals it kindly reminds me how many
more days it is to valentines day.    like the race is on or
something.  and as i continue with my pathetic little soul searching
    adventure to personals.theonion.com
    and www.dreammates.com and
    www.kiss.com and
www.friendfinder.com and so on and so
forth its like you have to have a partner for valentines day.  not because
you are gonna be lonely, or whatever other reason there could be to remind you
of how much of a failure you are, but because if you don’t have a date for
valentines, you won’t be buying any cards, going out to eat, sending flowers.
its all a corporate sponsorship now.  as long as you have a partner on
valentines, you must buy something.  and its evolved so much into other
things like buy her a new car, buy him a new truck,
    buy her a
    nice stereo system
.. I’ve gotten so many emails of a special on this for
valentines and you can win this for valentines.  blow it.  reminds me
of a show i watched recently on pbs about how the American culture is changing
because of media and corporations.  basically it all comes down to those
who hate the mainstream stuff delve into their own little worlds.  get
interested in strange bands, only watch certain tv shows, listen to certain
music because that makes them different.  and being a part of that group
that listens to so and so band is a feeling of togetherness with all the others
who listen to said band.  your own little family of people who don’t want
to have a family.  all these kids who will no longer listen to parents and
situational tv shows and teachers and things because they are mainstream.
turns out, in the end to get a message across to a kid, it must be corporate
sponsored.  saving the planet is not cool, but MTV saving the planet is
cool and if i could pick up some trash while listening to puff daddy rap or do
what ever it is he calls what ever it is that he does then that’s all right.

    Ok, my goal in
life has been achieved.  (well, one of them anyway) something that i’ve
worked so hard for has finally happened, and i’m just ecstatic over it!
the wonderful stile actually read an
e-mail i sent him and he found it so amusing he
posted it on his new site!
AHAAHAHAHA it’s so freaking funny.  It all started when a few days ago i
got one of the freakiest e-mails i’ve ever recieved.
     check out the link
to read the e-mail.  When i read it, i knew it was right down stile’s alley
and immediately forwared it off to him.  it’s cool that i know stile
actually read an e-mail and that he actually took the time to go through it and
post it on his cool site! anyway… check it out, even some people are
commenting on it and it’s currently ranked the #1 article in the funny shit
category!  i only wish he would have linked my site! argh.. oh well at
least my e-mail is on it

    Just a reminder
that there is this really great singer and dj’er that’s going to be tonight at
Philly Bistro in Wake Forest, NC.  I happen to know them both personally,
oh wait… its Mercy and I!  how bout that.  i hate rain, i hope it
stops before tonight so my equipment (and us) doesn’t get wet.  anyway,
come.  7pm is when we start, till about 10:00pm

  • Sunday, January 13, 2002

    News is that I
decided tonight to do something i could do in about an hour.  I have a
small lyric in my head i want to put to a song, but I didn’t think i could write
the full song.  I thought of making a map for UT, but decided i couldn’t do
that in an hour.  I thought of making a song and decided against that too.
so i thought i would write on this web site and explain why I couldn’t do what i
wanted to do in an hour for an hour, but then i realized the irony is that i
would have wasted an hour writing about how i couldn’t do something in an hour
which i would have ended up doing something anyway either way.  sure.
so I wrote a song.  get it under the music link.  jazzy style,
and very short and simple, but its pretty neat I think.  I worked all
weekend recording Mercy’s show from last Saturday into my computer and making
CD’s.  I’m trying to figure out a way to record in real time on site and
burn the cd’s there and sell them.  wouldn’t that be neat?  and I
found a bunch of other karaoke equipment that i may be interested in to fill the
gaps between shows and offer a mobile karaoke service.  i think it would be
neato.  i love music and it’s what i want to end up doing anyway so i need
to do something useful in my life.  aww. i had a new addition to my
loneliness page tonight, but i forgot it.  however, it assumes a new one
anyway, and that is that you have a loneliness page in the first place.

    of course, our show
was a success Saturday night.  and since so many of you came and wanted to
see more, our next show is the 19th of january, saturday night same time same
place.  no new news worthy of sharing right now.  i received my new
sound card this week and my next project is to record our shows that we’ve done.
we want some cd’s to give out to some places so maybe they’d hire us.  this
audigy is really great, no noise, i
got the external drive for it so it sits right next to my mixer board so i can
really plug and play.  however, the digital in doesnt hook to my digital
out on my mixer or recorder, so i can’t transfer songs digitally, but it’s still
    reallll clean songs. ohh yea

  • Friday, January 4, 2002

    so i’m snowed in a
foot of snow here.  i went to my dads and helped shovel out the driveway so
someone could drive out.  tomorrow we will work on my driveway.  i
have no where i have to go, cept just one minor detail.  mercy and i have a
gig tomorrow night.  all the equipment is in my house.  i’m not sure
how we’re going to do this but we will give it a go and attempt to load up the
vehicle with speakers and equipment and amps and the like.  the show must
go on, right?  and we need to do it so people will have something to do on
a cold saturday night.  hey, what are you doing on a cold saturday night?
nothing, i knew it.  you are all losers like me.  so come to philly
bistro in wake forest and watch me and mercy, show starts at 7pm January 5th.
